Becoming A Hypnotherapist

I discovered hypnotherapy while studying psychology at university. My Counselling Psychology lecturer, also a hypnotherapist, taught us various techniques. Suffering from tinnitus, I decided to try one of these techniques on myself and was amazed by the results. Encouraged by this success, I experimented with other techniques for different issues, all with positive outcomes. This experience sparked my passion for hypnotherapy, and I knew I wanted to pursue it as a career.

After graduating, I worked as an auxiliary nurse to save money for my training at the London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy (LCCH), now known as LCCH International. The LCCH is one of the most respected hypnotherapy training institutions, with centers across the UK and abroad. By 1998, I had completed my Certificate and Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and began my clinical practice.

Professional Practice

Over the years, I have witnessed incredible transformations in my clients. I have witnessed very interesting phenomena that have taught me much about the mind. One early example was a spontaneous past-life regression, which, after exploration and trauma release, led to significant relief from their current issues. These experiences deepened my understanding of the mind’s vast potential and the profound impact hypnotherapy can have on one’s life.

Mind Exploration

Many years ago, I began to work with a friend and colleague. Together we explored the mind through the hypnotic trance state which revealed even more to us about the amazing wisdom and knowledge that lies withing us all. This has been an amazing learning journey which has led me through many adventures and life changing experiences. Through these experiences, I have learned a great deal about how we create our life experience and how we can change it.

I now work to share this knowledge with others so that they too can have the best life experience that is available to them. We are capable of so much more than we can imagine.

Continuing Professional Development

I am committed to ongoing professional development, regularly updating my skills through specialist training courses. One of the most valuable courses I’ve taken is in Nonviolent Communication, which enhances authentic communication, deepens understanding, and helps resolve conflicts. I particularly enjoy teaching these skills to children, parents, and those who work with children.

While all my training has been valuable, I believe the greatest teacher has been the shared experiences with my clients. Each client has taught me something new about facilitating transformation through hypnosis. Most importantly, these experiences have reinforced my belief that anything is possible and never to underestimate the power of the mind.

Stress Management Training and Writing

In 2002, I completed an OCR Diploma in Stress Management, allowing me to train people in managing workplace stress. I followed this with government Health and Safety Executive training for health and safety consultants.

In 2001, I had my first child, followed by my second in 2003. This personal experience heightened my interest in helping children manage their emotions. I saw a need for resources to support busy parents and educators, leading me to train as a primary school teacher. This training helped me understand the needs and dynamics of a fast-paced school environment.

As a result, I created “Snouffles – Stories for Confidence and Peace,” a set of six stories designed to boost self-esteem, self-awareness, and empathy in both children and adults. These stories illustrate how thoughts lead to feelings and behaviors, teaching new ways of thinking and behaving for better relationships and greater happiness.

Global Reach and Online Sessions

Before the pandemic, I began offering online sessions to clients outside the UK. Initially uncertain about their effectiveness, I soon found that online hypnotherapy works just as well as in-person sessions. During the pandemic, online sessions allowed many people to receive the help they needed. I continue to offer online sessions as a convenient option for clients worldwide.

For those hesitant about online therapy, I offer an initial session to meet, to ensure comfort with the format. As long as your internet connection is stable and we can communicate clearly, I can work with you no matter where you are.

Client-Centred Approach

I am deeply grateful to my clients for their trust, which has allowed me to develop and grow as a facilitator of transformation. There is nothing more satisfying than helping people transform their lives through the power of their own minds. Together, we can achieve remarkable changes and unlock your full potential.
